At Secontaste, we donāt just make upcycled foods & snacksāwe craft stories with flavors, textures, and zero-waste mentality. Over the past year, we've invited YOU, our community, to join us as taste testers, letting you play a vital role in our product development process.
Why? Because creating the perfect recipe isnāt just about sprinkling in a pinch of saltāitās about gaining valuable insights, experimenting with sustainable ingredients, and paving the way for delicious, eco-conscious eating. Oh, and having a bit of fun while weāre at it. š
Who Are the Secontaste Taste Testers?
Are you a foodie, curious, and maybe just a little opinionated? Great! Thatās exactly the type of person weāre looking for. Taste testers are culinary explorers willing to dive into the nitty-gritty of flavors, textures, crunch levels, and visual appeal.
Youāre not just testing snacksāyouāre shaping the future of upcycled food. What is you(r taste buds) job? Munch, ponder and share thoughts. Itās as simple (and tasty) as that. š
The Taste Test Process: How It Works
Weāve designed multiple formats to make taste testing accessible, fun, and impactful:
At-Home Taste Testing: You apply. We send you a package filled with samples and instructions. You try them. You share your thoughts. šBonus: You get to drag your friends and family into the adventureābecause food & snacks are meant to be shared!
A recent success: During our crowdfunding campaign, over 100 enthusiastic testers helped us perfect the flavor and texture of our crackers. From chili, cinnamon, roasted cumin, fried onion, garlic, and thyme to cheese, their feedback was instrumental in achieving the ideal thin, crispy bite.
After the crackers, we took things up a notch. Our home testers participated in our upcycled recipe testing process and experimented with exciting ingredients like spent grain flour (from brewing pilsners, IPAs, or stouts), sunflower seed flour, and pumpkin seed flour. The results speak for themselves, Our testers transformed the flours into delicious creations! Check out the photos theyāve sharedāweāre in awe of their creativity and culinary skills. š

In-Person Workshops: For those who prefer stepping out of their kitchen and joining a group of enthusiastic individuals, weāve got you covered! Weāve hosted workshops featuring upcycled ingredients like spent grain flour. Participants didnāt just tasteāthey learned to create recipes and think zero-waste.
In these workshops, we also collaborate with our fellow upcyclers:
Using upcycled Ā Grapoila seed flours and learning about their zero-waste production method.
Mixing carrot fiber and spinach powder into porridge ingredients during the TREAT Project workshops.
Whether you're in Budapest or beyond, weāve designed these formats to include as many of you as possible in our flavor journey.
